The seeds of the business were planted two years ago, when I was issued a speeding ticket while on vacation with my family in Arizona. I could hardly believe what I was hearing when the trooper actually offered me the option of taking a Defensive Driving course in lieu of the fine and points.
I don't know about you, but up until then my idea of a Defensive Driving course was something like this:
Stuck in a chair for 8 hours, eyelids propped open by toothpicks, while watching gory films of car wrecks and human carnage splash across the screen .
I must admit, the course was an eye-opening experience, but not for the reasons I expected. One thing I realized almost immediately was that the term ‘Defensive Driving' is a misnomer. The techniques I learned were better defined as Collision Avoidance.
